- GSMA recognizes Sateliot’s contributions to the Non-Terrestrial Networks industry, highlighting its technical innovation, policy leadership and sustainable management.
Barcelona, February 6, 2025 – The European company has received the award in the ‘Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN)’ category for its roaming solution, which extends connectivity beyond terrestrial networks that currently cover only 20% of the Earth’s surface. By providing standardized technology to all operators, Sateliot helps bridge the digital divide in uncovered areas, enabling key economic activities such as agriculture, livestock, and logistics at affordable costs.
Showcasing the Award-Winning Project at MWC 2025
Sateliot, which attended the MWC from the 3rd to the 6th of March — one of the world’s most important technology events—has showcased firsthand its award-winning project aimed at providing connectivity to areas with little or no coverage across the globe through the planned deployment of more than 100 satellites. In this regard, the company was present in the Generalitat and GSMA pavilions, where it showcased a full-scale model of the satellites with which it will begin providing commercial service this year.
According to Jaume Sanpera, CEO and co-founder of Sateliot:
“At this MWC, we have seen a clear shift from mobile operators towards satellite connectivity as a complementary solution to terrestrial towers. Thanks to our scalable and standardized technology, we can be the global solution that telecom operators need to extend their coverage.”

Sateliot’s Satellite Constellation Deployment
Sateliot has already launched six satellites into space, the last four in August, marking a turning point in its operations. With these satellites, the company will begin providing commercial service in the coming months, generating recurring annual revenue.
With a strong core of shareholders, including Indra, Cellnex and Sepides, Sateliot reaffirms the strength of its founders strategy, which aims to promote a “national project” both in Europe and worldwide. In this regard, the company continues to gain solid support from those who believe in its capability and exceptional position in Europe to achieve technological sovereignty in space.
In fact, the company has already secured €270 million in contracts with more than 400 clients across 58 countries and expects to generate €500 million in revenue by 2027, reaching €1 billion by 2030.
