The initiative brings together 288 industry experts across 31 countries to drive collaboration on NTN technologies.
Barcelona, San Diego, September 18, 2024.- The European Space Agency (ESA) has officially launched the Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) Forum, aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation in non-terrestrial network technologies. This forum includes 288 professionals from 144 organizations across 31 countries, representing a wide spectrum of industries involved in telecommunications and space technologies.
Sateliot is proud to announce that its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Marco Guadalupi, has been appointed to the NTN Forum’s Steering Board, highlighting the company’s key role in shaping the future of NTN solutions.
NTN Forum Objectives
The NTN Forum is designed to provide a collaborative framework for implementing non-terrestrial network solutions for 5G Advanced and 6G networks. With the increasing demand for global connectivity, non-terrestrial networks are gaining traction as a critical technology for extending coverage, especially in hard-to-reach regions. By integrating satellite and ground-based infrastructure, NTNs can deliver seamless, reliable connectivity worldwide.
ESA’s new forum brings together key industry players and technical experts to address the growing challenges of building NTN capabilities that meet the evolving needs of global communications.

Sateliot’s Role in the Future of NTN
Sateliot’s participation in the forum is a testament to the company’s leadership in the space-based telecommunications sector. Marco Guadalupi, as part of the Steering Board, will contribute his expertise to guide the development of NTNs for next-generation mobile networks.
According to Mr. Guadalupi, “Being part of this forum is a unique opportunity to work closely with leading experts in the industry. Together, we aim to shape the future of telecommunications by leveraging space-based solutions to enhance global connectivity.”
The Road Ahead for NTNs in 5G and 6G
As the telecommunications industry transitions toward 5G Advanced and prepares for the emergence of 6G, non-terrestrial networks are expected to play a critical role in providing seamless coverage across the globe. The NTN Forum will serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration, where stakeholders can share insights, align strategies, and accelerate the adoption of these transformative technologies.
With organizations like Sateliot leading the charge, ESA’s NTN Forum is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobile connectivity. As more companies and governments look to NTNs as a solution for bridging the digital divide, the work being done by the forum will be instrumental in making global, space-based communications a reality.
