Senior Space Systems Engineer

YOUR MISSION

 

Sateliot is looking for a Senior Space Systems Engineer to join the Space Segment team. We are looking for an individual willing to face the challenges of a fast-growing space telecom startup.


The right candidate should show a great dose of curiosity, attention to detail and teamwork skills. Satellite project involves international suppliers that require flexibility to cooperate with different work cultures.

 

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

 

• Perform mission and system analysis and design for future sateliot constellation
  o Iterate STK simulations to find optimal constellation configuration
  o Calculate performance metrics out of simulation environment
  o Analyze mission trade off


• Perform use case simulated scenario analysis for Sateliot’s customers


• Support team to generate concepts of operations for Sateliot’s missions


• Support generation of presentation and technical reports in cooperation with Sateliot’s team and partners targeted to technical, non-technical or executive audience

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

• Degree in Engineering (preferably space related), Physics or Maths
• Proven experienced spacecraft Systems Engineer (Minimum 3 years)
• STK proficiency. We are looking for someone who can use advanced features like python integration, optimizer or communications module.
• Knowledge of at least a scripting language, preferably Python
• Excellent English proficiency, particularly written
• Good knowledge of orbit analysis and constellation configurations trade offs
• Excellent analytical skills

Senior Devops Engineer

YOUR MISSION
Join us in a pioneering mission that fuses terrestrial and extraterrestrial endeavors. You'll architect and
deploy AWS infrastructure and networking solutions, facilitating uninterrupted communication between
our satellite constellation in space and the diverse MNO and MVNOs on Earth. While your workplace is
the cloud, the impact of your work resonates beyond the atmosphere. We're on the hunt for experts to
liaise between our AWS infrastructure, GroundStation providers, and global operators (MNO and
MVNO).

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS
Blueprint, construct, and uphold AWS solutions under DevOps standards: EC2, EKS, IAM, RDS,
S3...
Drive the formulation and sustenance of AWS network solutions: VPCs, VPC peerings, Transit
Gateways, IPSec VPNs, and beyond.
Orchestrate integration and deployment routines using CI/CD pipelines, ensuring agile and
solution delivery.
Engage in the activation of core network protocols (S6, S6a, S8...) linking our AWS Core Network
with other Operators through VPC Peerings, IPX networks, VPNs, or Roaming Hubs.
Collaborate with Ground Station providers to craft and initiate the requisite networking
interfaces, marrying their infrastructure with ours via VPNs, direct links, or APIs.
Lead monitoring, logging, and metrics initiatives utilizing the Grafana stack, ensuring system
health, performance, and uptime.
Enhance and fortify network efficacy throughout our expansive AWS infrastructure.

REQUIREMENTS
Deep-rooted automation mindset (IaC) and mastery over DevOps technologies
(Docker/Podman, k8s, Prometheus/Grafana Mimir, Ansible, Terraform...)
Proficient in scripting to streamline and optimize infrastructure tasks. Additionally, expertise in
Python for development is desirable.
 • Comprehensive knowledge of AWS and its networking facets (EC2, EKS, IAM, RDS, S3, VPC, VPC
Peering, Transit Gateways...).
Deep-rooted understanding of networking concepts (routing, MPLS, BGP, VPNs/IPSec
Tunneling).
Proficiency in CI/CD integrations and deployments through Github Actions or similar tools.
Competence in Monitoring, Logging, and Metrics with the Grafana stack (Grafana, Loki, and
Mimir).
Solid experience in Linux server administration.
Previous exposure to telecom core network implementations in the cloud and knowledge of

RAN Engineer- Physical Layer

YOUR MISSION
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RAN Physical Layer Engineer with expertise in NB-IoT
technology to join our dynamic team. As an NB-IoT Expert, you will play a pivotal role in designing and
optimizing our NB-IoT network's physical layer for maximum efficiency and performance.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS
Lead the design and optimization of the NB-IoT RAN Physical Layer, including the eNB (evolved
NodeB) and Uu interface.
Define and implement advanced signal processing algorithms to enhance the performance and
spectral efficiency of the NB-IoT network.
Collaborate closely with system architects and protocol stack engineers to ensure seamless
integration of the physical layer with the overall network architecture.
Conduct in-depth system-level simulations and modeling to evaluate and improve the
performance of the NB-IoT system, including coverage, capacity, and interference mitigation.
Participate in the development of new NB-IoT features and enhancements, contributing your
expertise in physical layer design and optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to the NB-IoT physical layer, working closely
with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NB-IoT and wireless communication
technologies, incorporating best practices and emerging techniques into network design.
Collaborate with Test Engineers to define and execute test procedures to validate the
performance of the NB-IoT physical layer.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Proven expertise in NB-IoT technology and the RAN Physical Layer, with a minimum of 5 years of

In-depth knowledge of digital signal processing, modulation and coding schemes, interference
mitigation techniques, and RF principles relevant to NB-IoT. 
Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar platforms for system-level
modeling and performance evaluation.

RAN Engineer- Protocol Stack

YOUR MISSION
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Protocol Stack Engineer with expertise in NB-IoT
technology to join our innovative team. As an NB-IoT Expert in Protocol Stack Engineering, you will be
instrumental in developing and optimizing our NB-IoT network's protocol stack for efficient and reliable
communication.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS
Lead the design, development, and optimization of the NB-IoT protocol stack, including Layers 2
(Data Link Layer) and 3 (Network Layer).
Collaborate closely with system architects and RAN (Radio Access Network) engineers to ensure
seamless integration of the protocol stack with the overall network architecture.
Define and implement protocol stack features and functionalities, ensuring compliance with
3GPP specifications and NB-IoT standards.
Conduct in-depth protocol analysis, performance evaluation, and debugging to identify and
resolve issues related to protocol behavior, network signaling, and resource management.
Participate in the design and implementation of new protocol features, enhancements, and
optimizations to improve the efficiency and reliability of NB-IoT communication.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute test procedures for protocol stack
validation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and interoperability.
Stay current with the latest developments in NB-IoT and wireless communication technologies,
incorporating best practices and emerging protocols into network design.

Protocol Stack team's expertise.

REQUIREMENTS

NB-IoT Test Engineer 

YOUR MISSION
In your role as an NB-IoT Test Engineer, you will be immersed in a collaborative and adaptive environment,
where your efforts will have a substantial impact across all elements of the Sateliot solution - from
terminals to constellation and service management software, encompassing critical components such as
satellite payload, eNodeB and core network softwares, and ground segment components. Your
contributions will be crucial throughout various phases of the Sateliot solution evolution, from
conceptualization and lab testing to in-orbit testing and the operational phase of the service.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS
Develop and define comprehensive test procedures for NB-IoT network elements, ensuring to
simplify complex tasks for a universal understanding and fluid execution.
Set up the necessary test environments and configurations to execute test procedures
effectively. Write on-ground test procedures. Design and develop test scripts.
Execute test procedures meticulously, ensuring all aspects of the NB-IoT network are thoroughly
evaluated.
Record and report test results, including identifying issues and deviations from expected
outcomes.
Debug and troubleshoot interface problems, working diligently to identify root causes and
implement solutions.
Interface and collaborate actively with NB-IoT engineers and architects to relay testing insights,
provide feedback, and assist in improving network components, fostering a culture of knowledge
sharing and cohesive teamwork.
Collaborate with third-party providers when necessary to enhance the testing process.
Maintain clear and detailed documentation of test procedures, configurations, and results.
Support technical discussions with stakeholders.
Collaborate with Mobile Operators to facilitate Home Routed Roaming (HRR) connections and
perform testing related to roaming interfaces within Sateliot roaming technical team.
During space mission execution support satellite operations for in-orbit activities, write in-orbit
E2E Test Procedure and support to debug in-orbit anomalies.
Support satellite operators for payload activities during commissioning and testing.
Maintain and evolve testbed capabilities.
Interface with main test equipment vendors for 3GPP procedures.
Maintain Laboratory equipment (SW upgrades, calibrations, repairs, procurement of new
components, inventory, etc.). Laboratory network administration (VPN access, SSH keys, etc.).
Support and lead the integration of new equipment.
 • Maintain and ensure the physical safety of the testbed, introducing processes that uphold the
highest standards of safety and quality assurance.
Ensure the Testbed in representative of space scenarios.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Familiarity with Linux Environment and shell scripting.
Experience with RF Laboratory environment and equipment.
Hands-on experience with networking protocols and tools (e.g., Ethernet, TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP,
DNS, Wireshark, etc.).
Familiarity with 3GPP standards and network architectures. Particular knowledge of NB-IoT is a
plus (protocols and interfaces, including Uu, S1, S11, S8, S6a, and SGi).
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
Proven senior-level experience in a similar role within mobile operators, device manufacturers,
or chip manufacturers.
Extensive experience in developing and executing test procedures for wireless communication
systems.
Familiarity with Home Routed Roaming (HRR) and the interaction between Visited PLMN and
Home PLMN.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams,
Mobile Operators, and third-party providers.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple test cases and deadlines.
